Ownership of complex transactions, from the outset, to ensure operationally we can support the same within our risk parameters, actively engaged with the Operational and Business implementation teams
Keep abreast of industry changes and developments with regard to transactional regulations and impact of same to new transactions
All complex Interest, redemption and amortization calculations to be performed on the Rate fix Cards include Vanilla fixings (LIBOR +/- spread), FX linked notes, RPI linked notes, Range Accrual Notes, Dual Currency notes, Amortising Mortgage Backed Issues, Nikkei Linked Redemptions, Index linked Notes, Time Value of Money calculations, and Overnight Compounding Calculations, which require a sound understanding of the documentation and interpretation thereof. This will often require the use of complex formulas.
Floating Rate Note provisions of new Bonds need to be reviewed which entails a close relationship with our Documentation group, Lawyers and Issuers. A sound understanding of the ISDA Definitions is essential as they are referred to on a daily basis within all areas of Rate Fixing.
Bonds requiring publication in Financial Newspapers need to be monitored accurately. This requires direct dealings with Financial Advertising Companies and preparation of the advertising format.
Ensure Daily MCA packs are complete along with relevant sanctions screening each day.
Externals Rates:
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all daily deliverables are met and payments released in a timely manner.
Manage Issuer and calculation agent queries & Escalations.
Build and maintain relationships with multiple calculation agents
Track volumes of amended rate fixings received and where necessary coordinate monthly calls to improve performance
Maintain daily metrics in relation to processing volumes and internal processing errors
Encourage greater levels of STP with external agents by leveraging existing technology
Reduction of manual touchpoints & process improvements
Consultation on new functionality requirements and User Acceptance Testing with technology team.
Ensure robust controls are in place to ensure operational errors are kept to a minimum.
Ensure Daily MCA packs are complete along with relevant sanctions screening each day.
Markings/ETF/Non-Receipts
Act as escalation point for Euroclear and Clearstream in relation to position breaks, Non-Receipts and Delayed interest claim escalations
Ensure completion of Daily, Weekly and Monthly reconciliations with ICSD’s and Agents.
Completion of Monthly CMAR and MCAR packs and attestations
Ensure all non-receipts queries are answered in a timely manner with escalations resolved as quickly as possible.
Ensure accurate tracking of Delayed interest claims, coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure DI claims are settled in a timely manner.
Act as point of contact for new ETF products & issuances, supporting product head. Ensuring operational flows can support new product types
Ensure ETF issuances are completed on time with no outstanding issues on Migration date.
Act as escalation point for ETF income flows on distribution dates, ensuring the claims, advice and payments processes are executed as expected.
Ensure daily reporting, MCA packs and Sanctions screening are completed daily.
Knowledge/Experience:
Previous experience in Arranging, Structuring or market infrastructures relevant to capital markets advantageous
Participant in Market/ Industry working groups (ISMAG, ICMSA, ICMA) recommended
Exposure to Bond Market and ISDA knowledge is essential
Skills:
Excel skills (specifically formula based)
Word, Outlook
Quick and accurate numerical keying skills
Competencies:
Ability to work within a team with high volumes and suitably multi-task between job processes throughout the day and meet critical deadlines
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail is vital.
Strong Investigation/Reconciliation ability.
A sound understanding of Reuters is essential as this is the main reference source for the above-mentioned calculations.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Issuer / Agency & Trust – Corporate Trust product and market
5 Years industry experience minimum with 3 within capital markets
Strong understanding of capital markets activities and drivers, transaction documentation, execution and / or legal experience
Strong understanding of capital markets activities and drivers
Team player with ability to evidence leadership, credibility, and build consensus
Degree in, Economics, Finance, Business or Law preferred
CFA Level 1 exam completed desirable
